Holy Monday is the Monday of Holy Week, which is the week leading up to Easter in the Christian faith. Holy Monday marks the second day of Holy Week and is often associated with the events that occurred during the last week of Jesus Christ's life, as described in the Bible.
In some Christian traditions, Holy Monday is also known as Great and Holy Monday or Monday of the Bridegroom. This name comes from the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13, which is read during Holy Week, and refers to the bridegroom who arrives at the wedding feast to find that some of the virgins are not prepared for his arrival.
On Holy Monday, St. David's will reflect on the events of Jesus' life and teachings, including his triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his cleansing of the Temple.
