The study is divided into eight sessions, with groups meeting once a week for approximately 60–70 minutes. Groups will begin the week of September 14 and conclude before Advent. As a leader, you have flexibility in scheduling. You may choose to skip certain weeks due to holidays, parish events, or personal commitments. For example, some leaders may choose not to meet during the week following Trunk or Treat.

Not at all. Many groups meet in homes, but there are plenty of other options. St. David's has meeting space available, and groups can also gather in a "third space" such as a coffee shop, library, restaurant, or brewery. Choose the setting that feels most comfortable and welcoming for you and your group.

Absolutely! We will offer a Small Group Leader Training on Sunday, August 9, at 12:30 p.m. The training will be available both in person (with lunch provided) and online. Topics will include: - Creating a welcoming and engaging group environment - Facilitating meaningful discussion - Navigating common group dynamics - Practical group administration and communication - An overview of Philippians with Fr. Remington You'll leave with the tools, resources, and confidence you need to get started.

Absolutely not! Small Group leaders are not expected to be experts or theologians. The most important qualities of a leader are hospitality, curiosity, and a willingness to help others engage with Scripture and one another. Your role is not to have all the answers. Your role is to create a space where people feel welcomed, heard, and encouraged in their faith.

That's perfectly okay. One of the strengths of a Small Group is learning together. It's completely acceptable to say, "That's a great question—I don't know," and then explore the answer together or bring the question to clergy afterward. No one expects you to be an expert.

You won't be leading alone. Throughout the semester, the clergy and staff will be available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help with any challenges that arise. We want every leader to feel supported and equipped for success.

Yes! Many leaders enjoy partnering with a co-leader. Sharing responsibilities can make leadership more enjoyable and provide additional support for both you and your group.

Life happens. If you know you'll be away, you can work with your group to reschedule, skip a week, or ask a co-leader to facilitate the discussion. We encourage flexibility and grace.

Small groups don't have to be large to be meaningful. Some of the most impactful conversations happen in groups of four to six people. Whether your group is large or small, the goal is authentic connection, spiritual growth, and shared learning.
