Volunteer Opportunities at St. David's this February!

St. David's offers many opportunities for members to get involved in service and the life of the church. Serving in Ministry ensures everyone has a place at the table and builds relationships within the community. Below is a list of St. David's ministries that have current needs and volunteer opportunities.

Some ministries are suitable for individuals, some for teams, and some might even work for a whole family. Sometimes the best thing about serving is creating relationships with those you serve and those you serve with!

We hope you will find something that makes your heart sing.

FEBRUARY NFCC Food Pantry Collection: Canned Fruit

As fast as cans of peaches, pears, pineapples, etc. are stocked on the pantry's shelves, they fly out the door to families or individuals in need.  Please consider adding a few cans of fruit to your list when you go grocery shopping in February.  Just drop cans at the display in the mailbox hallway at St. David's.

NOTE:  Please avoid glass containers.  The concrete floors of the Pantry are unforgiving AND many of our families are walking, riding buses, etc., where opportunities for breakage abound.  Thank you, St. David's, for BEING A BETTER NEIGHBOR.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Tuesday, February 13

If you would like to help set up and decorate for St. David's Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, please contact Rebecca Cline, Director of Communication and Welcome Ministry.

Handbell Choir

St. David’s has been blessed with beautiful handbells organized and directed by Eileen Nahser for over thirty years. We are looking to add some new faces to our group and introduce them to the joy and beauty of Handbells. Our bell choir rehearses from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the handbell room (the end of the back hall) on the administrative level of Harrison Hall. There is great joy and fun in making music together. If you are new to handbells, you will enjoy learning and making music with our wonderful ringers. Please contact Sue Mitchell-Wallace to join this joyful group.

Studies have shown first-time visitors to church make up their minds about whether they’re coming back in the first 10-15 minutes of their visit. The Welcome Ministry reflects the heart of our St. David’s community by making everyone who enters our doors feel that relationships come first and everyone has a place at the table. The time commitment is small…the rewards are great. We would love for you to join this ministry. Questions? Please contact Nicole Highsmith or Robert Malpeli.

Digital Greeters

Did you know that most Visitors to St. David's visit first online? We are looking for folks to monitor the Youtube chat and welcome people to the livestream. Relationships come first at St. David's and we are called to meet people where they are.

Wedding Guild

Do you love a wedding? If so, would you be interested in volunteering for the St. David's Wedding Guild? The Wedding Guild is a ministry to assists the bride and groom, wedding party, and families at the wedding rehearsal and ceremony. No experience is needed. If you would be interested in serving, please get in touch with Linda Puckett.

Altar Guild

Altar Guild needs members to serve after the 11:15 service. The time commitment would be 5-10 minutes of work once or twice a month. We are also seeking additional members to help with the 9:00 service. It's 10 minutes before and after the service once a month. Please help set God's table for all our worshipers to have a deeply spiritual experience receiving God's holy sacraments.
