A Message From the Stewardship Committee “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” – Matthew 28:19
When people ask what it means to be a Christian, we talk about being disciples of Jesus Christ. Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is a transformative journey where we are changed by God’s love into the person God calls us to be, and we live a life filled with purpose and intention. When we turn to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit opens our hearts. We are shaped by God’s Word and our actions become an outward display of the power of the Holy Spirit within us. Beginning in late August, our clergy, vestry, and stewardship committee will be inviting the people of St. David’s to participate in a virtual journey of self-reflection and growth. This journey will explore the “Marks of Discipleship” beginning with two weeks of introduction and then each week we will examine a different topic: Daily Prayer, Scripture Reading, Weekly Worship, Service to Others, Relationships, Spiritual Friendship, and Giving. Over the course of each week, you will receive a meditation focused on the weekly discipleship mark, ministry spotlights highlighting the work of St. David’s disciples, and video messages of transformation and renewal from parishioners. Please join us in this journey of spiritual renewal and growth while we seek a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, with each other, and with the world around us.
