* All backpacks and supplies must be brand new!
* Please have all donations to St. David's by Sunday, July 25. Outdoors Ministry is planning a trip to Lula Lake Land Trust outside Lookout Mountain, Georgia, on Saturday, August 21, 2021.
Lula Lake Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by the will of Robert M. Davenport in January of 1994. Dedicated to the preservation of lands located within the Rock Creek watershed on Lookout Mountain, the mission is to preserve the natural and historic landscapes surrounding Rock Creek and its tributaries through conservation, education, and low-impact recreation. On Saturday, August 21 we will hike the trails along the creek to an overlook visiting the waterfalls and lake. A guide will lead the hike giving us a full history of the land and the mission of the organization. This trip can be a one day outing or an extended weekend. If you plan on staying the weekend I would recommend Cloudland Canyon State Park where there is camping, yurts and cabins for rent. Cloudland Canyon State Park offers other hiking opportunities as well. The local area offers other accommodations and interest such as Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park ( nice bike riding ). Please let me know if you are interested in day or weekend trip. I would highly recommend making your camping / yurt / cabin / B&B accommodations soon as they will go quickly. I will be camping at Cloudland, arriving on Friday August 20, staying August 21 and departing Sunday August 22 and welcome anyone who wants to join me. The weekend will allow for fellowship, sharing and seeing our friends from church. It's been a long time folks lets get outdoors together. Please contact Mary Veal for more information and questions. Have you met our new rector, Rev. Remington, yet?
All youth are invited and encouraged to participate in a Youth Town Hall meeting to discuss the transition between Wallace Benton and the future youth minister. Doughnuts will be served. This will be a meeting for just youth. We hope to see you and hear your ideas about our Youth Program. If you have questions, please contact the Church office. *Please note the time has changed. Remington was called to serve as the Presiding Celebrant at the 12:15 pm. Hispanic Service. |
