NOTE: - CHILDREN MUST BE POTTY TRAINED

Classes are held M, T, F from 9:30AM-12:30PM and on W/Th from 9:30AM-1:30PM. The cost is $2,925 per year or 9 monthly payments of $325. Children arrive and depart by way of a carpool line.

Young Five’s is a small class created to fulfill a need for an expanded PreK program for children who turn 5 at the beginning of the school year.   It allows for some accelerated PreK work (free play, circle time activities including alphabet, numbers, weather, calendar activities, stories, games, cutting, writing, and counting skills) and includes Kindergarten work (phonics, reading, Handwriting without Tears, early math concepts). The Kindergarten program is also a small class with a half day schedule. It allows children who have spring or summer birthdays an extra year before starting full-day Kindergarten or, if ready, First Grade.  The curriculum follows public school Kindergarten guidelines and offers a rich curriculum of phonics and reading using “Recipe for Reading”, Handwriting without Tears, and a Kindergarten level math curriculum.  Social Studies, Science, and Art are intermixed within as units of study.  Students in both of these 5 day a week classes will attend Music,  Physical Education, and Chapel each week, and play outdoors everyday. With a limited enrollment of 12 students, children can have a small teacher to student ratio that allows for individual and small group instruction.

Students are screened for academic ability prior to starting the program. Commitment to the extended days is mandatory and is therefore included in the price of tuition.

*Teaching focus is on social interaction, fine motor and early learning skills appropriate for Kindergarten. Children are evaluated in January and May.

Due at the time of registration is a yearly supply fee of $100 for Young Fives/Kindergarten, a pre-payment of May 2009 tuition $325,  and a test day fee of $30 = (total of $455)
