The Parish Profile was presented at the Rector’s Forum on Oct. 31. With this, the profile was made public on the St. David’s website to view or download. Any questions or comments were welcomed from the parish and directed through the Search Committee email. This also ended the open season for receiving candidate names. The early part of Nov. was spent reviewing and discussing submitted documents. Once completed the committee came to a consensus on those individuals we would like to continue with in discernment. The committee agreed on meeting and phone interview times for Nov. and Dec. We reviewed our phone interview questions and had conversation on a basic outline for the interview. The committee also decided to designate individual committee members to be proficient in certain topical areas of discussion for interviews such as: Finances, Outreach/Missions, Christian Ed., Demographics and Services/Pastoral care. The committee then held a mock interview for structure and timing purposes. The meeting closed with prayer

September 21, 2010 meeting:

The meeting was opened with prayer. Our new member, Betsy Harvey, was welcomed by all. We reviewed definitions describing congregation sizes as well as titles used to designate various positions or jobs. We also learned that titles have different meanings at each church as well as their responsibilities, mostly depending on the size of the church. We continued with reviewing the Clergy CDO's. The remaining names form the Bishops office were reviewed as well as some of those received from the national deployment office. Consensus was necessary and we thank God for his guidance. Meeting ended with prayer. The next two meetings are scheduled for October 5th and 7th when we will continue the review process.

September 14, 2010 meeting:

Opened with Prayer. Betsy Harvey will replace Thomas Nolfa as vestry member liason on Rector Search Committee effective immediately. She will be a full member of the committee respecting the confidentiality and norms established by the committee. Formal presentation of Parish Profile will be made to the congregation during the Adult Christian Education class on Oct. 31.  Final drafts of the various interview letters to be mailed to candidates were reviewed.  The committee began the process of reviewing candidate forms submitted by the Bishop’s office. A committee member will continue researching about classified advertising in Episcopal publications. Letters will be mailed to approved candidates in the next week inviting them to join the search process. Future Meetings: Tues. Sept 21 at 7:00, Thurs. Oct. 7 at 7:00, and Tues., Oct 5. Closed with prayer

Aug. 31, 2010 meeting:

The meeting was opened with prayer. Beth reported that the vestry has now approved the revised Parish Profile. Canon Rick Callaway stated that we would not need to resubmit to the Bishop's office. With this approval the CDO form was forwarded to the Bishop's office for submission to the national church deployment office. Hard copies of the profile will follow in a few days to their office.

Beth will contact the rector to schedule the formal presentation of the profile to the parish. This now places us in the next step of the search process. Once our information is submitted the search committee will begin receiving candidate names.

Drafts of letters to be used for initial contact in response to the receiving of names were presented. We currently have a few names on file and will notify the parish that this is the time for them to submit any nominations they may have. The protocol for the submissions will also be stated using the committee's church email address.

There was some discussion about using paid advertising online and in print. Beth stated that updates will go out to the church through the website, the Illumination, EBlasts and VPOD announcements. The deadlines for submission of names from the parish is Oct. 1 with the final deadline for submission of candidate documents by Oct. 22.

The committee then reviewed interview questions with extensive discussions.Rob took the committee through review of a fictitious clergy CDO form instructing us on how to interpret the information and key items to watch. The meeting closed with prayer. Our next meeting is Sept. 14.

Aug. 10, 2010 meeting:

The meeting opened with prayer. The Committee Chair, Beth King, presented the committee with the Parish Profile’s format revisions that will accommodate our ideas to meet the vestry's desires for the profile. Included were some text editing which have also been implemented. The committee approved the revisions. Once all have been made we will be ready to resubmit to the vestry. In the meantime Beth and the Sr. Warden will complete the CDO form for submission the National Deployment office.

The rest of the meeting was spent in preparation for the next phase of our search process. We reviewed all of the possible interview questions proposed by committee members and decided which ones to use and at what appropriate time to use them.

We again reviewed the steps involved in the process including receiving names, response letters and initial contact. The meeting closed with prayer. Our next meeting is Aug. 31.

Aug. 3, 2010 meeting:

The meeting opened with prayer. Our Vestry Liaison, Thomas Nolfa was in attendance. Beth congratulated the committee on a swift and enthusiastic approval of the Parish Profile from the Bishop's office. She recounted a meeting with the Sr. Warden and Vestry Liaison where they laid out some additional changes the Vestry would like to see made. Thomas further explained the vestry's desires. The changes will require some rewriting, review, and reformatting taking anywhere from 3-4 additional weeks. Once this is done and the vestry approves the revised document it will go back to the Bishop's office for final approval. At that time all documents will be submitted to start receiving candidates names.

We then spent some time considering how best to meet the vestry's requests within the existing document. Beth will forward our ideas to Thomas. We ended with prayer. Next meeting: Aug. 10, 2010

 July 21, 2010 meeting:

We opened this week's meeting by celebrating Holy Eucharist asking for God's continual guidance and open hearts to receive it.

Beth presented the latest and fairly finished draft of the parish profile. After review and discussion the committee gave Beth the go-ahead to deliver this to the Bishop's office on Fri. In the meantime she will meet with Bonnie Underwood from the vestry to go over the Church Deployment Office (CDO) form that will go into the national church office and to look over the profile draft. The vestry will be reviewing the profile simultaneously with the Bishop's office. After any suggested changes are made printed copies will be given to the Bishop's office at which time we will begin to receive candidate names.

Our consultant led us through the procedure for filling out a page of the CDO form about Parish Orientation which each committee member completed. The individual sheets will be collated to create a final form. He then discussed a time line going forward and the interview process. Each committee member submitted 4 suggested interview questions which will be compiled and discussed at our next meeting on Aug. 3. The meeting was closed with prayer.

July 15, 2010 meeting:

Meeting with our consultant, the committee heard an update on the final graphic and edit work being done on the Parish Profile. At this point we feel confident that we can have the profile ready for the Bishop's office by the end of next week making one last review at our
meeting next week, July 21st. The Committee then reviewed each section with minor revisions for the most part. With welcome input by the vestry we considered and
entered additional information to a couple of sections.

Our consultant, Fr. Rob Wood, spent time instructing the committee on the progression
of the next stage of the search process. After approval by the Bishop's office and the Vestry, we will begin receiving names. Our time up to then will be spent completing and submitting a Church Deployment Office form to the national Episcopal Church, preparing time lines and writing interview questions. Future meeting dates were decided through Sept. The committee and Vestry will attend a required Anit-racism class being held at St.
David's on Aug. 21.

June 22, 2010 meeting:

The committee is now reviewing the results from the Parish Survey to
use in constructing the Parish Profile. We reviewed each section we
are writing for the profile and discussed how best to present it in
the profile-text and graphics. We will also begin looking through
online picture albums to choose those photos to be used throughout the
document. As we are doing our work, we also have several volunteers
to do the graphics work for us and to work on editing our text.

At our next meeting on July 15, our consultant will begin working
with the committee to prepare us for the next phase that will include
receiving names and the interview process.

We will continue to update the parish, and the Vestry,  about the progress of the committee. We are grateful for your support and prayers throughout this process.
