Youth
Sunday School
6th - 12th Grades
6th-9th Sunday School
At 10:15 EVERY Sunday the youth meet in classes designated by grade for 45 minutes of Christian Education led by Sunday School teachers. The lesson design and discussion will vary depending on grade level, but all classes will be using the “Living the Good News” curriculum, distributed by Morehouse Publishing. “Living the Good News” is used for all grades at St. David’s (K-9), thus ensuring a sense of progression and consistency throughout a child’s years at St. David’s.
10th-12th Sunday School: “Expresso Grandé”
Facilitated by Fr. Todd Dill, and some not boring adults!
Most folks think of Jesus as the man who started Christianity. But it turns out he wasn’t just a man. He had dirty feet, partied, cooked breakfast, and got himself killed. Who was this guy? Why did people hate him so much? And why should I care?
The material is from a great series Jesus with Dirty Feet. Class comes with Starbucks Coffee and Bagels. Meets in the Chamber at 10:15 a.m.
“3 FOR ALL”
The 1st and 3rd Sundays will continue with the “3 FOR ALL” program, which is a combination of Sunday School, Youth Mass, and EYC from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., in the Parish Hall and Chamber. On all the other Sundays of the month, EYC will be held during the same time in the Chamber. The “3 FOR ALL” curriculum is the Confirmation curriculum, which is written by our priests, and is based on the Lectionary to reinforce the catechism.
10th Grade Confirmation Class + “3 for All”
The Sunday School curriculum for the 10th grade is designed to prepare young people for Confirmation in the Episcopal Church. However, even if a young person does not intend to be confirmed, this is appropriate course study for a high school sophomore. The emphasis is on an adult understanding of faith. 10th graders are required to attend the “3 for All” Sundays and attend regular Sunday morning Sunday School. The Material taught for the 10th grade (and the entire “3 for All” programs) is the “St. David’s Curriculum,” written by the clergy of St. David’s. The Rector serves as editor. The material combines the lessons for the day with the Catechism.
