  Children's Sunday School 2010-2011

All about Sunday school 2's-5th Grade
Sunday school at St. St. David’s runs September 5, 2010 through May 15, 2011 10:15-11:00. Open House for all ages is Sunday August 22, 2010 from10:15-11:00. You are invited along with your child to visit their classroom; to meet their teachers and classmates; to register your child for the class roll; and to share and simple snack and classroom activity.

Sunday school is a weekly opportunity for fellowship and for learning as we share the stories of Jesus and the Bible integrating music; arts; crafts; play; and yummy snacks. All children are welcome and invited to weekly attendance!

Parent volunteers are a key support to teachers each Sunday for children of all ages. Parents are scheduled on a rotating basis for children 2 years-first grade to assist the teachers with the care of the children and for help with special activities.

Thank you to all our parent volunteers and Youth volunteers who teach and care for our youngest church members.

Where we meet:
2 year olds: St. Elizabeth
3 year olds: St. Mark
4 year olds (preK)*: St. Matthew
5 year olds (kindergarten)*: St. John and St. Luke
1st grade: Catacombs
*The four and five year olds meet in the choir room at 10:10 for Cherub Choir; and then onto their Sunday school classrooms at 10:30. The four year olds who have been in childcare for the 9:00 service will be taken to the choir room at 10:10.

2nd-5th graders: meet their classmates in the front of the nave at 10:15 then walk together to the first floor of Jeffords Fellowship Hall for snacks and hospitality before beginning their classes. The children are led from the nave by their group shepherds who are the adult volunteers that guide and care for the children throughout their morning; and who are present to assist the classroom teachers.

Children in second through fifth grade meet weekly as large group along with their class shepherds and teachers on the first floor of Jeffords fellowship Hall for a snack and hospitality before going to their classrooms. Children participate in a fun and varied schedule of activities both in support of the weekly Bible story and to build fellowship. Activities include singing, dramatic play, baking, arts, crafts, games and more! Please join us each Sunday!
Please pick up all children ages 2 years- 5th grade from their classroom at 11:00.

There will be no Sunday school: December 26, 2010, and January 2, 2011

Epiphany Celebration: January 6, 2011 at 9:30 service
The Epiphany Pageant is longstanding tradition at St. David’s in which children ages 2 years-5th grade are invited to participate in the retelling of the Nativity Story for the entire parish. There will be more information later in the fall regarding cast roles for the children; a rehearsal date prior to the pageant; and needs for adult volunteers.
