Children's Sunday School
Sunday school takes place between 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. each Sunday. We have a total of 56 dedicated Sunday school teacher volunteers. The infant and toddler nursery workers are included as teachers because they provide a warm and friendly face to the smallest members of St. David’s. We currently have approximately 360 children registered for Sunday school with an average of 180 children (two-year-olds through 5th grade) actually attending each Sunday.
Just Turned Two – Kindergarten
The curriculum for JTT through Kindergarten focuses on Bible stories from creation and stories of God’s people in the Old Testament, and the New Testament stories of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. The curriculum used is the Episcopal version of Living the Good News, and is lectionary based.
1st - 5th grades
This year our Rotation Model of Learning will include children in 1st through 5th grades. The Rotation Model focuses on one Bible story for 5 consecutive weeks. Children rotate through workshops which teach the story from different interest areas: art, drama, computer, science, cooking, movies, games, gardening, etc.
Children in the Rotation Model have grade-level assigned Guides. The Guides gather with the children in the Nave after the 9:00 service and escort them to the appropriate classroom based on the rotation schedule.
